A musical letter to Terry Reid
"Dear Terry,
I want to tell you this: meeting you has changed my life for the better. You have been a major inspiration both musically and in my personal life. I thank you again for your precious friendship.
A few months ago, words came to me in music, like a letter, a letter of admiration and deep affection for you (and Annette). Naturally, I asked my friends, who are also yours, to join me in the studio to record this song, simply entitled “Terry”. More than a gift to you, it's a gift to ourselves. Like your eternal presence in our lives.
I love you Terry. We all love you."

The story of a decisive encounter - Part I
A stroke of luck and love at first sight
A night of July 2008, Guillaume Simon (aka INDOLORE) comes across the "Glastonbury Fayre" documentary film. Bewitched by Terry Reid's feats, he sets to search for him and eventually traces him at the frontiers of the Mojave Desert. Once contact is established (through his longtime friend Chris Johnson), the two quickly get along very well. A demo of "Mind Dance" wins over Terry and persuades him to fly again across the Atlantic...

The adventure takes shape - Terry Reid and Indolore (with his band Shine at the time) finally meet, in Paris, in June 2009
On June 9th 2009, Terry Reid arrives in Paris. Indolore and his band Shine welcome him in their studio, a basement in the popular Menilmontant neighbourhood. Originally scheduled for one week, the recording session with a terrific Terry Reid only takes two days!
"As soon as Terry started singing, I felt like I was diving into the book of rock legends. I felt my life changing." Indolore

The honeymoon continues on stage
On August 26th of the same year 2009, Indolore, Terry Reid and Shine met again, this time in London, for a glowing live première of 'SHINE featuring Terry Reid' at the legendary Pigalle Club.
"An outstanding live performance of the songs on this EP was the highlight of The Winelight Club’s summer and the finished article of those songs recorded back in June are simply sublime. Here are two artists who should be massive in their own right, as a team they are mind blowing" (The Winelight Club – UK)

July 2025 - The song reaches Terry
"That's not how things were supposed to turn out; that's not why I wrote this song. But Terry's health suddenly deteriorated as summer 2025 approached. So we rushed to finish the track and I sent it to Terry and his beautiful wife Annette. I wanted Terry to hear it and realize how much we all loved him. Then I received this incredibly moving message from Annette. Very sadly, a couple of weeks later, Terry passed away...
Yet Terry Reid is still with me, with us, every day of our lives. Consider this song, “Terry,” as the soundtrack to our deep friendship and our eternal admiration for this extraordinary man and artist. Thank you so much Terry. You know I love you."
